Many popular Hollywood stars have in recent times developed interest in the Kabbalah Center, which has only raised questions on what is fascinating such a great multitude to the Jewish mysticism. Some of the celebrities that have invested heavily in studying the Jewish mysticism include Madonna, Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Sandra Bernhard, the Late Marilyn Monroe, the late Elizabeth Taylor and the late Sammy Davis.
Many people have given different reasons for joining Kabbalah. Sandra Bernhard described it as a way of dealing with her life, especially after she split with Nick Carter. Sammy Davies had a quite different view of it though; he wanted to become part of the history that runs down for 5000 years and as a way of strengthening him emotionally. Similarly, Madonna had her own personal reasons. She felt like it was a platform to help other people; Taylor also believed in helping people to make the world a better place. In fact, at some point in her life, she offered herself in exchange for the 100 Israelis who had been held as hostages in Entebbe Airport in 1976.
According to the Kabbalah Center website, Kabbalah is an ancient wisdom that provides real-world tools that gift happiness and fulfillment to people. The Kabbalah Center was founded by Rav Yehuda Ashlag in 1922 and has become the largest distributor of information about Kabbalah. Its mysteries have been believed to be so complex that they were only taught to devout students who were above 40 years old. The leadership of the Kabbalah Center has been passed from Rav Yehuda to Rav Yehuda Tzvi Brandwein and finally to Rev Berg.
While many people only think of Kabbalah as a Jewish mysticism, it is actually about a concealed knowledge of God, which also is God’s design of the universe. This knowledge was passed down from the likes of Adam, Abraham and Moses. The book upon which wisdom of Kabbalah is based on is called Zohar, which was written in Aramaic, a language related to Hebrew. These teachings are also similar to those in the Bible and the Kabbalah Center is a good place to learn this.
