Studying advertising with a keen eye for business during his college years, Alexandre Gama began his advertising career as a creative writer for Ogilvy & Mather in 1982. By 1990, he started copy writing for DM9, becoming the most awarded Brazilian writer during the next four years. Drawing from his experience as the CEO and CCO of Young & Rubicam, by 1999 Alexandre Gama launched his own agency, Neogama.
Neogama immediately became a huge success in Brazil, winning a Lion at the Cannes Film Festival in its first year of existence. It then grew to associate with other companies like BBH and Publicis Groupe; currently, Neogama exists as a standalone Publicis-owned agency, under the leadership of Alexandre Gama.
Along with managing Neogama, Alexandre Gama is now focusing more on two of his passions: music and cars.
A relentless guitar player, he partnered up with guitarist Ulisses Rocha to expand the scope of guitar-playing in Brazil; they run a weekly music program on radio and a YouTube channel. But his imagination doesn’t stop there. Alexandre is also an investor of Mono, a company that produces fancy, one-seater cars. Mono makes only about 40-50 custom cars annually – Alexandre Gama also owns one.
